Text Box: Robert Burns (1759-1796), the national poet of Scotland, enriched English literature with his unforgettable works.  He drew from his every-day experiences, travels, and relationships with people, putting to pen such unforgettable works as “Auld Lang Syne” and “Comin’ thro’ the Rye.”  
In this tradition, Robert Burns Inc. was formed almost 200 years later in 1995. .Since then it has been our aim to draw from successful managers, professionals, salespeople, educators, and human resource specialists those ideas, methods, and approaches that really work in the competitive world of markets and organizations. It is these concepts that have been built into our practical and cost effective human resource development  programs.
John Burns is President of Robert Burns Training, Inc. where he is responsible for the development and implementation of sales and management communications and training programs for both small and large client organizations.  He has served as a training officer in the U. S. Army, and has held various retail, sales, personnel, marketing and management positions in major organizations. Over the past thirty years, as an active Trainer, Educator, Training Manager, Director of Training for a Fortune 200 company, and as an independent consultant, he has worked with over 25,000 professionals, salespeople, and managers in a variety of organizations.  In 1994 he was presented the Gold Award by the Professional Society for Sales and Marketing Training.  John received a BS degree in Marketing from Fordham University and an MS degree in Adult Education and a Doctorate in Education from Syracuse University.  Dr. Burns has written and presented seminars on a variety of education, training, and management topics, and has developed and presented numerous training and education programs.  In addition to his consulting activities he has served as an adjunct professor for Syracuse University and Keuka College. He is past president of the Central New York Chapter of the American Society of Training and Development
